A woman in Gonda district of UP has alleged that her relatives unborn baby died due to medical negligence in the District Women Hospital. But the doctors claim that it was a case of intrauterine foetal death.

The woman emphasized that Yashodha, her relative was not treated andhence was forced to lie outside the hospital. When they reached the hospital at around 8 am, the hospital staff asked them to leave. The doctors referred Yashodha to another hospital in Lucknow. Doctors, however said that Yashodha was admitted but as it was a case of intrauterine foetal death, she was further referred to Lucknow.

Anant Prakash Mishra, CMO said that she was referred from Balrampur and it was a case of intrauterine foetal death. It was not possible to operate here so she was referred to Lucknow.

He further said that as he was on rounds, he noticed that the woman was lying outside the hospital and said that she was waiting for the ambulance as she was referred to Lucknow.

He also said that he called the doctor who was treating the woman and asked for details and was informed that it was a case of intrauterine foetal death. It was already a diagnosed case and the child had died two days ago. Doctors did several attempts for a normal delivery but eventually the patient was referred to another hospital in Lucknow.
